50 Mums | 50 Kids | 1 Extra Chromosome
A while back I watched a brilliant film by the magical
Sally Phillips about downs syndrome ( she has a child
born with this.) It seems we can now,( with early means
of detection and a woman's right to have an abortion)
stop anymore children with downs syndrome being
born. It looks like Iceland is well on the way to
becoming the first country to do this, the first country
to never have little bundles of pure love and joy
like these in this clip...
..think about it... what's next.... on second thoughts

I see that yesterday was national poetry day,
well that's wrong because yesterday was Thursday
and Friday is poets day, Piss Off Early Tomorrow's
Saturday...
Winterdene... ( May 2003)
I'm an old man in a posh car
Pickled herring in a glass jar
And all roads lead to Winterdene.
Now here alone in evening shade
The inside watching the outside fade
The past gone and the future obscene.
I've had my time now here's the night
Why can't we just, switch off the light,
Or drive away to some where afar
Like an old man in a posh car....

This that and other stuff
I write and dib and dab
Some time thoughtful
Some time drab.
Tonight my scribe is dry,
To bring salt drops to your eye
To make you laugh or think
Paper pen and ink
Brethren brothers three
No verse alas from me
You'll gather or gain
As idle and empty my brain.
No crusty yarn or tale
Released by jars of ale
No lover's martyred death
No summer's sigh the breath
Of spring to chase.
No distant exotic place
Perchance you wish to go
As tired am I and so,
I bid thee good night
As now I take flight
To my own astral plane
While consciousness does drain
I drift shuffle and shuff

It seems I must apologise ...

political elite, to the well educated, so here goes...
I'm truly sorry for being old, for being poor and uneducated
for having the intellect of a mollusc and, it follows that if I talk
about immigration then I must be a bigot and a racist, for this
